Did you know...

I was surfing the web and found so awesome Random Facts. Check them out...

  • Ginger root fights nausea caused by motion sickness and relieves migraine headaches.
  • Cilantro may be useful to treat urinary tract infections. Both the leaves and seeds aid digestion, relieve intestinal gas, pain and distention. They also treat nausea, soothe inflammation, rheumatic pain, headaches, coughs and mental stress
  • Peanuts are high in fungus and, often, pesticides. They do not contain any omega-3, which can contribute to distorting your omega-6:omega-3 ratio.
  • Skipping breakfast reduces concentration and muscle coordination.
  • Broccolli contains twice as much vitamin c as oranges.
  • Exercise can speed up wound healing.
  • Exercise can improve brain function.
  • Some evidence suggest that the use of green tea preparations improves mental alertness, mostly likely because of the caffeine content.
  • Garlic can slightly lower blood cholesterol levels.
  • Women who eat more soy foods have a lower risk of developing breast cancer, compared to those who eat less soy foods.
  • Soy protein is the only complete plant protein that is equivalent to animal protein.
  • Recent studies find that soy isoflavones may enhance short term memory and execute function in women.

But none of the sites I got these fact from explain why these facts are true. At Quest, we love to ask "why?" because we want to understand what we are learning instead of just being told to believe the facts. For my question, I hope to understand facts like these and be able to explain to others the difference between the facts, the theories, and the myths.

P.S. Do not quote these facts! I don't remember where I got them. Do more research if you want to know more about how certain foods effect your body. :)
